We’re working our way through the Alphabet Of Christianity. David said, I sought the Lord, and He answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4)
We need David’s personal testimony because of the many f-f-f-fear factors in our lives. On the Richter scale of fear we can get shook up all the way from 1-10 and beyond. How did David overcome?
For one thing – he didn’t say all his fears were taken away. He did say he wasdelivered from his fears. Fear is fear – it’s there. But God does something within us so that we are greater than the bully fear.
David said, I sought the Lord. He got serious about winning his battles. He searched out God when his fears came looking for him. He faced fear but was not defeated. He exhibitied courage in the Lord. Courage is not the absence of fear – but a conviction from God that we can move forward in faith because God is and will be faithful.
David said, He answered me. Why did God answer? Becaue David’s mind, heart and spirit researched. Where do you search? Research His WORD. The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to fortify and free up a man or woman of God! Someone said, “A Bible that’s falling apart is usually owned by someone who isn’t.” For example, check the alphabetical concordance in the rear of your Bible right now under FEAR – you’ll get help.
David said, All my fears. All? How can that be? David found that all fears have one answer. GOD. Let’s get Apostle Paul into this. He testified, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) Let’s get Apostle John into this too. He testified, “Because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (I John 4:4)
Finally, Jesus Christ said, In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
It’s good to be delivered!
